Dyffryn Ogwen Visitor Centre, Bethesda

This project involved the demolition of the existing visitor centre at Dyffryn Ogwen near Llyn Ogwen, and the subsequent construction of a single storey masonry and timber building which houses a new visitor centre for the local area as well as offices for the local Snowdonia National Park Warden.
Some of the work involved in this project included:
- Traditional timber and steel construction roof, with an overhang glass canopy around the perimeter
- Pre-cast concrete floor to the attic which is used for storage
- Blockwork cavity walls, externally clad with a mixture of ryolite stone and welsh larch timber cladding
- External works consisting of deep drainage, rain harvesting tank, kerbing, car park and approximately 500m2 of local cut glacial paving stones
- This project has a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating
